FOR CREATIVES

SOMATIC work for
CREATIVE LIFE

Textured Paper Surface

Creativity requires access to a deep emotional life. Having access to emotion, however, does not automatically mean knowing how to live with it.

Creative work can place unusual demands on identity and the nervous system. You are repeatedly asked to be visible, evaluated and rejected; to access emotion on command; to tolerate uncertainty; and to keep making even when the outside world is not confirming your worth.

For years, I knew that landscape as an actor. I also know what can happen when the public or professional self becomes louder than the private one.

Somatic work can help creative people separate worth from outcome, become more intimate with emotion without being ruled by it, and build a steadier relationship with visibility, expression and uncertainty.
