ABOUT

From performing emotional truth to learning how to live it.

Textured Paper Surface

I spent much of my adult life as an actor, in a profession that asks you to access emotion, be seen, take risks and repeatedly put your sense of worth into uncertain hands. For a long time, I became very good at performing emotional truth without necessarily knowing how to live it.

There was a growing split between the successful outer life and what was happening underneath it: fear, defensiveness, loneliness, shame and a difficulty allowing myself to be known. Somatic work gave me a different way in. Instead of trying to think my way out of every pattern, I began learning how those patterns lived in the body — in tension, breath, impulse, collapse, control, avoidance and the ways we protect ourselves in relationship.

That exploration grew into years of men’s work, embodiment practice, Tantra, facilitation and somatic training, and eventually into working directly with individuals and couples. Today I am especially interested in the meeting point between body, attachment, intimacy, creativity and the stories we build about who we are.
